Meet the Angels

Barley's Angels is an international organization that was created as a consumer offshoot of the Pink Boots Society (empowering women beer professionals since 2007). They wanted to spread the good word about craft beer to as many interested women as possible, engaging them with their local brewsters and communities while providing education and fun times.

The Toronto Chapter was founded in 2010 by Mirella Amato, who has been spreading the word about great beer for years. The Angels have been hosting monthly pub nights and special events ever since, and enjoy working their way across the city's best beer bars and breweries. We're enjoying all the great beer this city has to offer, one pint at a time!

Lesli Schneider Lesli’s first words may well have been “What’s on Tap?”. Her German heritage exerts itself in a strong preference for Wheat Beers, Bocks and Dunkels. She can be found regularly asking  “What’s new and what’s good?” at one of the many beer bars around the city, or pouring pints and offering unsolicited advice from behind the bar at Beer Bistro.  Follow Lesli on Twitter or find her on Untappd

Angela Mulcahy Long time beer drinker Angela enjoys a range of styles from Pilsner to Stout. When she isn’t hanging out at her favourite watering hole you can find her on the ball hockey court or trying to incorporate beer into cooking and baking. Angela’s next beer related hobby will be an attempt to conquer homebrewing. Find her on Untappd.

Debbie Keffer Debbie’s love of beer started in the pubs of Scotland, where tasty pints of ale greeted her at the end of each day’s hike. Back at home in Toronto, she continues to explore the city's great beer bars and is thrilled to find a gem or two in most neighbourhoods. While always willing to try something new and different, traditional ales will always be Debbie’s true beer love.   Deb's taking a break to explore by bike - follow her adventures at Hobbit Style!

Justine Barone Justine first discovered her love for all things beer when a friend offered her a taste of his pint of Guinness.  Now, she’s a homebrewer, hop grower and all around beer geek.  Her favourite styles of beer are super hopped American style IPAs, kölsch and altbiers, and her (current) favourite hop variety is citra.  Besides beer, she loves board games, trashy YA novels and travelling abroad … to find better beer.
